Ripple Effect Circle is an action-oriented alliance of individuals of influence across multiple sectors (private, public, non-profit) in Canada created to take action and work towards combatting systemic racism in Black communities.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple but impactful: to combat systemic racism and promote diversity and equity in sectors that serve Black communities in Canada by partnering with experts from diverse sectors, so that together our actions can have a rippling effect.

How We Began

The Ripple Effect Circle was born out of the efforts of the Guiding Circle of the ACCO (African Canadian Coalition of Community Organizers). The ACCO, a coalition of community organizers was formed in 2012 in response to the ingrained racism in our society and The Guiding Circle of the ACCO was formed to lobby the Government on issues in our community that concern or impact our most vulnerable.

Our Actions

The Ripple Effect Circle drives impactful actions and change, by:

  • Influencing and sharing experiences across industries and sectors to raise awareness and unite us in making changes against anti-racism.
  • Providing resources to support Black communities in addressing systemic racism.
  • Creating policies and practices that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion and influencing change in those that don’t.
  • Helping industry experts create action plans for change and tracking impact.
  • Acting as a unifying body for other anti-racism groups and promoting their cause in alignment with our mission.
  • Growing our impact by influencing others to join the Ripple Effect Circle.
